I've used the extra time to practice my instruments, write some new tunes, and experiment with new ways of performing. Live streaming gives you a sort-of-on-stage feel, but I think it's even more powerful for the audience; it feels personal. Staying connected with other local musicians has been key for me. We're all going through it together.

Rick Hine
I retired a year ago and started pursuing my passion for music after many years absent to raise a family. I started playing local establishments and started to get a following but then the pandemic hit and playing in public is not an option yet, so the band still meets to rehearse and stay ready for when things open up again .

As for the work I've been doing I would say my main focus is creating videos and graphic art around releasing my new album, Side Street. The album is slated to be released September 18th, 2020. Also, I've been consistently performing on Facebook Live for my weekly series called "Not Bad for a Tuesday" which has had a variety themes (Songwriting Workshops, original and cover songs, guest artists, even a riff on Tiger King called Joe Exotic - where I did a bunch of funny exotic songs). Lastly, I'm working on a new album aimed to be released later this year...

Since the start of 'retreat' I had been awaiting the final album mastering on 2 different projects : Mammal Branch Rancheros - an original singer-songwriter multi-genre split disc with a Buffalo NY musician (Mammal Branch Rancheros); the other Simmerin' Stew is a string band fusion group based in Binghamton. The Stew has also been polishing 10 originals written last fall which are soon to be recorded in the next couple weeks. Other than that, I've been trying to find new inspiration through my first love of painting.

Uncleshake
Uncleshake was a five piece band before covid set in. Quarantine left us as a two piece so we spent our extra time writing new material geared toward our current duo status. As always, our only hope is that has as much fun listening as we do playing

Claire & Brian Vollmer
These last few months have been trying for us all. As artists, we rely heavily on live music for not only income but also a sense of community and purpose. We have found ourselves struggling to find new ways to maintain all of these things during the Covid-19 crisis. The challenge has been a healthy one though; one that has forced us out of our comfort zones musically as we navigate an industry online and alone. We are grateful for the growth and especially grateful for the extra time we’ve had with our baby, Leonard.
